Everyone seems to photograph Hallgrímskirkja from the front or side, but it looks magnificent from the back too. This was taken last November and posted on my Instagram.

While dawn in Reykjavík happens around 7 a.m. around this time of year and it is pretty much light by 9 a.m., the actual sunrise doesn’t take place until after 10 a.m. Today it took place at 10:13, according to a chart I found on the Weather Bureau website. This is how I know the sun is rising, seen from my window:
