It’s the time of the year for berry-picking in iceland. For most people it means picking bilberries, but for me it means I gan gorge on crowberries. These little black berries are wonderful with skyr, or with cream and a little sugar, or just eaten as they come. If you are ready for a little work – time-consuming rather than hard – you can also make a delicious jelly from them that is great on toast, with cheese and with some types of game.
