Early warning signal

The common redshank (Latin: Tringa totanus; Icelandic: stelkur) makes it its business to warn the neighbours when anything that might be considered a threat approaches. They can make nature walks into a loud and annoying business with their distinctive warning calls and habit of following you around, screaming at the top of their voice.
